A program near and dear to our heart, the Ladies Auxiliary and Post volunteers serve up a tasty meal for VA Hospital Veterans, young or old, bussed in from the Leestown VA Hospital. Everyone pitches in from assisting wheelchairs off the bus to preparing and dishing out a scrumptious feast.
Events are held on the third Wednesday of every other month. Check the Ladies Auxiliary section, or, our Post Calendar for schedules. Come join the fun, meet and mingle with these truly interesting fellows. It's a blast.

In December of ’08, American Legion and VFW Posts 8, 313, 341, and 680 jointly launched a trial “Christmas Program” to distribute signed copies of Beaches of Belmont to four local V.A. Hospital and Convalescent Centers.
The reception from both interned and homeless Veterans, including Leestown's staff, was an immense success… more than anticipated as confirmed by a letter from Kentucky's Dept. of Veterans Affairs:
“there are no amount of words to thank you…
the autographed books were an amazing gift to us all”
In honor of Vincent Zecca, the WWII veteran to whom the book is dedicated, Post 341's member/author has waived all profit and royalties to enable Posts, companies, and individuals to sponsor case lots at actual cost... a 50% discount for a gift-quality, leatherette, hard cover 1st Edition while they last.
We don't need Christmas to continue. Please join us by sponsoring at least a ¼ case. Long after cake and cookies are gone, it's a unique and perpetual companion genuinely cherished by veterans of any age. It's the least we can do for them.
